  • R04 (Pensions and Retirement Planning)
    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of an ability to analyse pension and retirement planning issues.
  • R05 (Financial Protection)
    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of an ability to analyse financial protection planning issues.
  • R06 (Financial Planning Practice)
    This qualification helps advisers develop and demonstrate their financial planning capabilities.
  • R08 (Pensions Update)
  • CF1 (UK Financial Services, Regulation and Ethics)
    The objective of this unit is to develop an understanding of the financial services industry including regulation and legislation.
  • CF6 (Certificate in Mortgage Advice)
    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of the UK regulation environment in the financial services industry, mortgage products, repayment options and the giving of mortgage advice.
  • ER1 (Equity Release)
    This examination assesses a knowledge and understanding of the different types of equity release products, risks to the consumer associated with equity release and application of suitable equity release solutions according to the circumstances of different customers.
  • AF6 (Senior Management and Supervision)
  • AF8 (Retirement Income Planning)
  • LP2 (Financial Services Products and Solutions)
    Develops knowledge and understanding of customer needs, how financial services professionals and organisations identify and provide for these needs, including an understanding of key retail financial products.

Sam's 9-5

Sam has spent the last 10 years in the financial services sector, previously working as a pension and investment consultant and paraplanner.

Sam specialises in pensions, investments, estate planning, tax, protection and cashflow modelling. He has recently achieved his Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and is now working hard towards achieving Chartered status very soon.

Sam's home life

When he’s not working, Sam loves to spend time with his daughter and wife. He enjoys cooking up a storm in the kitchen and often plays 5-a-side football.

Sam is a keen runner, too, and a member of Newport’s Lliswerry Runners.
